India's biggies Reliance Films as part of their Hollywood plan, has signed on Brett Ratner for the big screen adaptation of a comic book YOUNGBLOOD.
Ratner is quite excited about working with Reliance, who bought the rights for this venture for a hefty six figure sum.
“Most of the great graphic novels are gone, and ‘Youngblood’ is one of the few comicbooks left with tentpole potential,” Ratner told Daily Variety. “It was a real personal passion project for me, and a lot of people wanted (‘Youngblood’), but the amazing thing about the guys at Reliance is the speed with which they’re able to move.”
Seriously? Ratner? Is he the director on whom Reliance is putting their money on? Sure the Ambanis have some extra change in their account, but why throw their money on a director that exactly isnt hot in any circle. And then they go about buying the rights for a comic book that has such cold vibes even among the comic fanatics. I really would like to know who are these Reliance guys consulting when it comes to these decisions?
