CONTRACT
directed by Ram Gopal Varma
After revisiting the SARKAR lanes with a sequel, Ram Gopal Varma looks to be trying to gain a foothold back in the industry.
And one of the aces up his sleeve for that task seems to be his upcoming movie CONTRACT.
The movie seems to the be the final of his trilogy set that saw underworld movies like SATYA and COMPANY, both of them masterpieces in Indian cinema.
CONTRACT is yet another movie that is focused on Ramu's fave territory - the underworld. However this time it also takes in a slice of international terrorism too somewhere in there all.
Basically the movie is said to be the story of the gang wars that fuelled between Chota Rajan and Dawood Ibrahim.
After Rajan being gunned down at Bangkok, he was rescued and whisked away to safety by the Indian intelligence and deliberately given a free run to oppose the might of Dawood. It is esentially this battle between the two gangs that the movie essentially portrays. If you remember, Ramu's COMPANY also dealt with the early days of these gang wars culminating in a Bangkok episode.
The movie comprises a bunch of newcomers and with it, Ramu is expecting to make the same kind of impact he made ten years ago with SATYA. This one features Adhvik Mahajan, Sakshi Gultai, Amruta Khanvilkar among many others.
The latest buzz is that the film also stars one brand name...Malika Sherawat. Though the makers are hush hush about it, it seems Sherawat madam is a suprise element of the movie.
