Ashutosh Gowarikar simply has to get it right. After weaving magic with LAGAAN, he missed the mark with SWADES. Now there is too much money and name at stake with his latest project JODHAA AKBAR. He is lucky to have UTV to trust him and back him. But the truth is that the film is now nearly late by 6-8 months. While the film should have been ready by mid-2007, it was slated for a release atleast by Jan 26,2008.





However now with more delays and post production woes, the makers have zeroed in on a Feb 14 date.


Gowarikar, Hrithik and Aishwarya have nearly given their entire calender year to this project in order to get the mega opus to the screens and it is sure to count a lot into their profile.

The story narrates the tale of Mughal Emperor Akbar (Hrithik Roshan). Winning over kingdoms over the length and breadth of the Indian frontiers, Akbar also wins over the allegiance of Rajputs. He also marries a Rajput princess Jodhaa (Aishwarya Rai).

But now Akbar who won battles small and large, now faces the challenge of winning the love of his new wife.



The film explores and tells the untold story of this love that Akbar finds in Jodhaa.





The film is certainly big and lavish. Right from the costumes to the sets, the man power , time and resources that goes into making the film a reality is seen to be believed.

Music from A R Rahman and lyrics from Javed Akhtar is sure to be a surefire combo and pave way for higher expectations from everything else about this project!
