Director Sam Raimi who managed to make two successful franchises in Evil Dead and the recent Spiderman is now being roped in by the bosses at Paramount to revive yet another franchise - the Jack Ryan one that is.
The popular CIA figure who is already responsible for four big blockbusters, think it is time for Ryan to make a return and they believe that Sam Raimi is the right man for the job. The CIA agent who was seen in the big screen in The Hunt For Red October, Patriot Games, Clear and Present Danger, and Sum of All Fears is a creation of writer Tom Clancy.
Clancy meanwhile is just completing his latest Jack Ryan book, but there are no assurances that Paramount will pick the same for its movie version. However insiders say that they are looking for a 2010 date to see Mr Ryan back on screen!
Which means Raimi will have to get working on this after his current flick Drag Me to Hell!
