Santosh Sivan makes his International debut!

Acclaimed cinematographer Santosh Sivan have all the reasons to be an excited man as his English debut film Before The Rains is set to make its way into the theatres in the US, thanks to the deal between Merchant Ivory Production and Roadside Attractions.

The movie is set in Southern India in the late 1930s and tells the story of a man who is torn between the two worlds and the choices he is left to make. The man is T.K Neelan (Rahul Bose) a young Indian who forms the link between the land, the villagers and his foreign boss, spice baron Henry Moore (Linus Roache). However things turn ugly in the village as news spreads that Moore is having an affair with his maid Sanjani (Nandita Das). This is where TK gets torn between his orthodox past and his progressive future. The film takes a look at the choices and decisions the man makes.

The film was earlier premiered at several film festivals and now looks all set to break out to more audiences.
