From director Doug Liman (The Bourne Identity and Mrs & Mrs Smith) comes a sci –fi thriller , adapted from Stephen Gould novel. Hayden Christensen has been cast in the lead role while Samuel Jackson has been roped in to make sure that the kid does not make any jumps.

The producers 20th Century Fox have reportedly pumped in 100 million bucks for the production of this film that has been wrapped in controversies from the very beginning itself.

Jumper tells the tale of a young man David Rice who has this ability to teleport to anywhere. However he is tracked down by another boy with similar abilities and an ancient organization Paladins that has sworn to kill the ‘Jumpers’ because of the scars they leave behind every time they make their jump.

EXCITED?

Want to be... always game on for a good science fiction thriller! But unfortunately lots of factors are stacked against it. The buzz has not been kind to this film from the word 'go' and the film has been stuck in some controversy from time to time, including an accidental death on the sets.

However the real distrubing factor is that we have a 100 million budget sci-fi flick making its way into theatres on Valentines Day. This in itself seems to be giving out the negative sign because in the right sense, a movie of this budget had to make it to a solid 'seasonal' weekend. They could have given this flick a run atleast during the Holidays when the award films were making their rounds. IT would have provided for some entertainment. But Valentines weekend?

At the moment, Jumper looks like a sci fi flick that does not seem to take off!
