Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani have launched their next project Rock On.
The film starring Farhan Akhtar, Arjun Rampal, Prachi Desai, Purab Kohli, Sahana Goswani and Luke Kenny is slated for late 2008 while shooting will most probably be wrapped up by mid of this year.
The film shall be about four young boys who get together to put up the greatest band the country has ever seen. However things do not go according to plan. Ten years later, fate brings them back together and they decide to give their dream one more chance!
At the moment there is a strong buzz in the market since this will be the acting debut of not only Farhan Akhtar but also of the TV star Prachi Desai. So there are more reasons than one to check this movie out.
Javed Akhtar will be lyricist to the tunes of Shankar Ehsaan and Loy. Cinematography is by Jason West. The film shall be directed by Abhishek Kapoor

Its a soul searching pilgrimage into their past.The film is being directed by Abhishek Kapoor and stars Arjun Rampal, Prachi Desai, Purab Kohli, Sahana Goswami and Luke Kenny. The film is schedule to release in the 3rd quarter of 2008.

UPDATE 28 Jun: The promos have finally been unleashed and we must say we have an updated Dil Chahta Hai over here and these guys look fantabulous.....and I am already excited for this movie.
UPDATE 29 JUN: As per the promotional strategy, the makers of ROCK ON are planning rock concerts at the four major venues across India where the lead man Farhan Akhtar shall be actually performing along with music composers Shankar Ehsaan Loy. And with Luke Kenny also on the cast list, expecting Channel V shall be singing only one tune till the release...well who is complaining, just ROCK ON dudes!
The music is slated to release on 7th of July and is certainly expected to be nothing short of a rocking experience! source: Mid-day
