Rajinikanth-Shankar together? Again!?

The latest buzz in the industry is that Shankar after toying around with various names for his big budget sci-fi thriller ROBO, has zeroed in on superstar Rajinikanth.

One wonders how much of this is true , and for the best interests, I really hope this is not true. With SIVAJI, Shankar gave us the typical Rajini masala that was sure to get the cash registers ringing. The tamil audiences expected something and that is exactly what Shankar provided on the platter.

But sci-fi is a totally different genre and with the budget that Shankar is planning on, this needs to be really big. As the earlier reports went, a SRK film would have ensured that good returns on investment. However a Rajini past his prime, it exactly is not a safe bet.

Shankar needs a younger talent for sure. Obviously the bigger the name, more the investment. I would be even more happier if it was a Tamil film with say a Vikram in the lead role.
But if Shankar is eyeing the Hindi market, it is better to opt for a Hrithik.

Do not get me wrong - but Shankar might come up with the goods- however it would means compromising a lot on the script. And that, is something I aint in favour of!
